A new-construction single-family residence in rural Tennessee developed through a series of schematic design studies that explore the relationship between traditional rural forms and contemporary living. Four archetypal house forms are transformed in response to the family’s program and connected by a central circulation spine, creating a contemporary residence rooted in familiar regional forms.
